How we approach each engagement

Every service begins with an assessment conversation — no charge, no commitment. We look at what you have, tell you honestly whether we can help, and agree a written scope before anything starts. Prices are fixed; any change in scope is discussed before it affects the cost.

The three services can be used independently. Some clients start with the Spreadsheet Cleanup and later add the Report Writing Assistant once the underlying data is reliable. Others come straight to the workshop when habits have drifted. There is no required order and no package pricing.

Service 01

Spreadsheet Cleanup

Most small businesses run on two or three spreadsheets that have grown over years. We take yours apart carefully: fixing broken formulas, separating data from working notes, settling one naming convention, and rebuilding the summary sheets so they update when the underlying rows change.

No software is added at this stage. Many clients find this alone removes the frustration they came to us about, and we are content to leave it there if so.

You supply: the workbook files, access to any linked sources, and 30 minutes to walk us through how the sheets are used.

We review the workbook structure and map formula dependencies.

Broken or unreliable formulas are repaired or rebuilt from scratch.

Data and notes are separated; naming conventions are standardised.

Summary sheets are rebuilt to update automatically from source rows.

Written documentation of what was changed and what to watch for.

We map the three report types you produce and the data sources behind each.

The assistant is configured to pull from those sources in your existing format.

Flagging rules are set: any figure the tool cannot verify is marked rather than filled.

You receive a test draft. We adjust until the output matches your format reliably.

Handover with written notes on how to update the configuration if sources change.

Report Writing Assistant

Drafting support for the reports you produce on a schedule: monthly sales summaries, project updates for clients, board notes. The assistant assembles the first draft from your own figures and last period's format, leaving the interpretation to you — since that is the part with your judgement in it.

Scope covers three report types, connecting them to the sources holding the numbers, and a rule that any figure it cannot verify is marked rather than filled in.

You supply: a sample of each report type, the data files or sheets they draw from, and access to the tools you currently use for assembly.

Service 03

Refresher Workshop

A half-day workshop for teams six months or more into using these tools, when early habits have set and some have gone quietly wrong. We review how your staff are actually using the setup, correct the shortcuts that create risk, cover what has changed in the tools since you started, and answer accumulated questions people have not asked because they seemed small.

Held at your premises for up to ten people, with written notes afterwards.

You supply: a meeting room for up to ten people, brief prior context on which tools your team uses, and any questions staff have collected.

Review of how each team member is currently using the tools.

Identification and correction of shortcuts that introduce errors.

Coverage of tool updates and changes since the initial adoption.

Open Q&A for questions that have built up but not been asked.

Written notes circulated within two working days.
