Cendana Works Seremban

A small team doing careful work with data.

Cendana Works was set up in Seremban for businesses in Negeri Sembilan that needed help with their spreadsheets and reports — not a consultant's vision of what their operations should look like.

How Cendana Works came about

The name comes from the cendana tree — sandalwood — which grows slowly, holds its grain well, and keeps its quality for a long time. That felt like the right description for the kind of work we wanted to do: nothing showy, nothing that falls apart after six months.

We started in 2019 working with a handful of businesses in Seremban that were all running into the same problem: spreadsheets that had grown past the point where anyone fully understood them. Formulas referencing the wrong columns, summary tabs that had to be updated by hand every month, figures that differed between the version in Finance and the version in Operations. The fixes were not complicated, but they took someone willing to sit with the files long enough to understand what they were supposed to do.

Over time, as AI tools became part of how businesses handled their writing and reporting, we added services around those too — not to push clients toward technology they did not need, but to help those who had already adopted it use it without introducing new errors.

We work with businesses that employ between three and thirty people. Most of them are in Seremban or elsewhere in Negeri Sembilan. We come to your premises where the work benefits from it. We do not work remotely with files we cannot ask questions about.

How we work

A few principles that shape every engagement, regardless of which service you are using.

We assess before we start

Every engagement begins with a look at what you actually have. We do not quote or commit until we understand the scope.

Your files stay yours

We do not store, share, or retain client data after an engagement closes. Written confidentiality arrangements are available on request.

Uncertain figures are marked

Where a figure cannot be verified from your data sources, we flag it clearly rather than fill it with an estimate that looks plausible.

Written handovers

Every project ends with written notes — what was changed, why, and what to watch for. No verbal-only handovers.

Plain communication

We explain what we are doing and why in ordinary language. If something is complex, we spend the time making it clear rather than leaving you to trust it.

Fixed pricing, stated upfront

Prices for each service are published. You know what you are agreeing to before you sign anything. Scope changes are discussed before costs change.

Data support for small businesses in Negeri Sembilan

Cendana Works operates from Seremban and focuses on the data and reporting challenges that small businesses face when their tools have outgrown their original setup. Spreadsheets built for one purpose accumulate years of adjustments. Reports that started as a simple table become a monthly chore involving four people and three copies of the same file. AI tools adopted for writing support develop habits that introduce errors nobody has time to trace.

Our work is in finding these gaps and closing them — not by replacing the tools your team already knows, but by making them do what they were supposed to do. We work in English and Bahasa Malaysia, operate under Malaysian law, and understand the working conditions in Negeri Sembilan businesses.

If you are looking for support with Excel or Google Sheets, with AI-assisted report drafting, or with training your team on tools they have been using for a while, we are the right conversation to have.

Talk to us about your data situation.

If it sounds like something we can help with, we will tell you what that would involve. No pressure to proceed.
